This was decided by the Minister of Health, Livia Turco, and the regional health councilors, during yesterday&#039;s meeting at the ministry. A Government-Regions joint committee will soon be set up with the task of verifying and fine-tuning the new methods for the CME, with the consultation of the professions concerned. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Style_3\">The extension will allow the already accredited courses and training events to take place, pending the writing of the new rules. Compulsory continuous training, which began in January 2002, &quot;is an opportunity - the minister and the Regions agree - which still needs to be made available to healthcare workers&quot;. The continuous training program provides for the obligation for NHS operators to achieve a certain number of credits during the year, which are obtained by participating in congresses, conventions and CME accredited courses. Until the end of 2005 they were accredited <span class=\"Style_6\">218,933 events,<\/span> to which they add <span class=\"Style_6\">66,537 corporate training projects<\/span>. They got involved <span class=\"Style_6\">84 providers<\/span> And <span class=\"Style_6\">69 in &#039;distance&#039; training,<\/span> using new technologies. <\/p>\n<div class=\"Style_3\">In 2005, the ranking of the professions that have undergone the most training and updating, sees i <span class=\"Style_6\">doctors (82,795),<\/span> followed by <span class=\"Style_6\">nurses (19,300), pharmacists (17,485), psychologists (10,785)<\/span>.
