Sergio Domp\u00e9: 'we ask the new government to invest more in research'<\/p>\n

The President of Farmindustria Sergio Domp\u00e9 asks the new government 'to go ahead with the laws that have already been passed, such as those on research on the 5 per thousand and the tax credit for the tax exemption of the 40%'. Domp\u00e9 also believes that industries need long-term programs and that investments in research should be increased 'by strengthening collaboration with public bodies and universities'.<\/p>\n

Researchers at Copenhagen University, after reviewing 67 studies of vitamin pills involving a total of 232,000 people, said there was 'no compelling evidence' that these supplements were good for you. Scholars advise against the use of supplements in healthy populations. The supplements examined were: beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium. The Italian Association of Food Products Industries states: 'Italian supplements are safe. There are doubts about the reliability of the published data'.<\/p>\n

From the first data of the March verification of the monitoring table of the balance sheets of the ASL and hospitals, it emerges that for 6 Regions (Abruzzo, Lazio, Puglia, Sicily, Piedmont, Calabria) the 2007 health deficit is growing. For some, for the first time, the new government could trigger the support procedure and therefore extraordinary measures.<\/p>\n
