{"id":13665,"date":"2011-03-14T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-14T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fedaiisf.it\/l%c2%92europa-cerca-farmaci-innovativi\/"},"modified":"2011-03-14T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2011-03-14T09:30:00","slug":"l%c2%92europa-cerca-farmaci-innovativi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fedaiisf.it\/en\/l%c2%92europa-cerca-farmaci-innovativi\/","title":{"rendered":"Europe is looking for innovative medicines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content clear-block\">\n<p>Eight new projects bring the number of programs launched to 23 and the funds earmarked by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), a public-private partnership between the European Union and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), to \u20ac450 million .<\/p>\n<p jquery1300118617807=\"8\">The new projects, with a total budget of \u20ac172 million, involve 103 academic teams, 23 small and medium-sized enterprises and two patient organisations.<\/p>\n<p>One of these, <em>Be the cure<\/em> (BTCURE), aims to develop new therapies for rheumatoid arthritis, with a total budget of \u20ac38 million and 34 partners from across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Three other projects, PREDECT, ONCOTRACK and QUIC-CONCEPT focus on developing better tools for detecting and treating lung, prostate, ovarian, breast and colon cancer.
