This is underlined by the General Report on the country's economic situation published on the Economy website. Spending grew by 1.4% compared to 2010, while the deficit stood at 1.779 billion. Costs for personnel and pharmaceuticals are down.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

NHS expenditure in 2011 reached 112.889 billion euros<\/span><\/b> <\/span>(in the last report presented to Parliament at the end of the year by Mario Monti by the Prime Minister, it had already reached the record figure of 111.333 billion euros). With a ratio between overall expenditure of the NHS and GDP equal to 7.1% (it was 7.2% in 2010) and a percentage increase in overall expenditure compared to 2010 of 1.4% (in 2010 it had grown by 1.1% and in 2009 by 2.8%). But considering that from 2011 the costs relating to the depreciation of investments were accounted for, the change in expenditure between 2010 and 2011 is 0.1%.<\/p>\n

A contained expenditure dynamic, therefore, the result of both the containment measures on personnel (blocking of the National Collective Labor Agreement) and pharmaceuticals, and the actions implemented by the Recovery Plans.<\/p>\n

The NHS deficit in 2011 thus stood at 1.779 billion, of which 0.134 billion in profits and 1.913 billion euros in losses (recorded in Liguria, Lazio, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia). A deficit that marks a decrease of 19.3% compared to 2010.<\/p>\n
