Family doctors are on the barricades against the reform of the profession. To safeguard our health or their privileges?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

General practitioners threaten a strike if Minister Balduzzi accepts the proposals to reform the family doctor network proposed by the regions. Too bad: they miss a good opportunity to start discussing the modernization of their profession that has such an impact on our lives. Let's put things in order.<\/p>\n

\u2013 last week, as we have told<\/font><\/a>, the Minister of Health, Renato Balduzzi, has written a small revolution in his health reform project: family doctors will have to organize themselves to get together in clinics active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (or so), equipped with small routine diagnostic instrumentation, so as to be able to assist patients in all small emergencies as well as in active disease prevention. In this way emergency rooms are unloaded, savings are made, and patients are given the intelligent comfort of more personalized and integrated assistance.<\/p>\n
