In October 2012, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production decreased by 1.1% compared to September. On average for the August-October quarter, the index recorded a decrease of 0.5% compared to the immediately preceding quarter.<\/p>\n

<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Corrected for calendar effects, in October the index decreased by 6.2% in trend terms (there were 23 working days against 21 in October 2011). On average for the first ten months of the year, production decreased by 6.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.<\/p>\n

<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

In October 2012, the indices adjusted for calendar effects show negative trend changes in all the main industrial groupings. The most marked decrease concerns intermediate goods (-8.0%), but significant drops are also recorded for capital goods (-5.8%), consumer goods (-5.5%) and energy (-4. 4%).<\/p>\n

In the trend comparison, the industrial sectors that show growth are: manufacturing of chemical products (+1.1%) and food, beverage and tobacco industries (+0.4%)<\/p>\n

<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

The sector that recorded the largest decrease in October was that of the manufacture of rubber and plastic materials, other non-metallic mineral products (-14.7%).<\/p>\n

A ottobre 2012 l’indice destagionalizzato della produzione industriale è diminuito dell’1,1% rispetto a settembre.
