(AGI) - Rome, April 16. \u2013 According to the pharmaceutical company Roche, yesterday's opinion of the Superior Health Council, welcomed "with favor" by the Swiss giant, confirms "the structural and pharmacological differences existing between the molecules Avastin (bevacizumab) and Lucentis (ranibizumab), studied and approved for different therapeutic indications". In fact, the opinion "recognizes the potential risks of contamination and consequent eye infections for patients deriving from the handling and improper fractionation of the product, establishing that the masterful bevacizumab-based galenic preparation is made exclusively by hospital pharmacies in possession of the necessary requirements and that administration takes place only in highly specialized centres".
