Right now, over 4 million Syrian refugees have fled their country giving rise to one of the biggest humanitarian crises of the last 25 years (UNHCR data).<\/p>\n<p>To address this serious situation, <strong>Janssen with Johnson &amp; Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust (Trust)<\/strong> started one <strong>series of health and humanitarian interventions to alleviate the plight of refugees and to help them find safety and relief from suffering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In support of this global approach to the crisis, the Trust is collaborating, together with J&amp;J&#039;s global partner Save the Children, to launch a<strong> online platform to enable Janssen employees<\/strong>, a pharmaceutical company of the Johnson &amp; Johnson Group, <strong>to make a donation<\/strong>. Donations will go to Save the Children to respond quickly to the refugee crisis.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onuitalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/appello-di-save-the-children-ue-accolga-i-migranti-6364999774189x1744780x3251-580x325.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"507\" height=\"284\" \/>Through this online tool, <strong>it will be possible to donate &quot;food for a day&quot;<\/strong> to a child who fled war and extreme poverty, forced to sleep in a refugee camp or in the open. Through the funds raised, Save the Children will purchase milk and bread, as well as non-perishable foods that are a source of protein. In addition, donations will be used to bring drinking water to a community of 800 people still living in Syria, or provide mothers and children sleeping in refugee camps or in the open air with a personal hygiene kit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to be able to make our contribution to the serious refugee situation which in recent months has been assuming increasingly worrying dimensions,\u201d he said. <strong>Massimo Scaccabarozzi<\/strong>, President and CEO of Janssen Italia \u2013 Therefore it is essential to give a concrete and rapid response to the humanitarian crisis, starting right from our company. I hope that, also thanks to our donations, Save the Children will be able to alleviate the suffering of these people who have already suffered enough in their country of origin&quot;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/img.tgcom24.mediaset.it\/binary\/afp\/90.$plit\/C_4_articolo_2107592_upiImagepp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"369\" height=\"208\" \/>Save the Children is working along the refugee transit route, supporting refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt through the provision of protection, education, food, care and shelter. In so-called transit countries, such as Greece, Italy and Serbia, the international organization is working in formally recognized refugee camps and in so-called &quot;informal&quot; ones to provide tents, hygiene kits and food. Additionally, it established a coordination hub to respond to critical issues such as child trafficking, abuse and exploitation.<\/p>\n<p>The Johnson &amp; Johnson Group companies and the Johnson &amp; Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust (Trust) have already started\u00a0<strong>multiple health interventions<\/strong> in support of the plight of Syrian refugees over the past few years, including:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.quotidianosanita.it\/img_prima\/front329529.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\u2022 <strong>June 2015: donation of pharmaceutical products <\/strong>in favor of the humanitarian aid organization ANERA in support of refugee camps in Lebanon;<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>May 2014: Donation of trauma equipment <\/strong>to the DePuy Synthes Middle East Association in favor of the surgical-reconstructive treatment project of M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res carried out in the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, for a total value of 1.4 billion dollars;<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>2013<\/strong>: The Trust rescheduled its grants ($137,000) to the Aga Khan Foundation&#039;s (AKF) humanitarian response in Syria, to <strong>support for the health of babies and children<\/strong> and for communicable disease prevention programs in the Salamieh district of Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdt.ch\/svizzera\/economia\/139629\/farmaci-meno-cari-per-i-paesi-poveri.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Novartis.
