Hired in 1998 by the Ministry of Health as medical director, Rossi over the years has become a manager of Aifa, the Italian drug agency. In the 400 pages explaining the provision, the Gip of Turin writes: \u00abFrom what has emerged, there is a total absence in Rossi of interest in the protection of public health<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Behind the consideration in cash and various gifts, according to the allegations, Rossi would have passed on confidential information to the\u00a0pharmaceutical informants<\/strong>, facilitated the procedures for the approval of drugs on the market and "helped" those in difficulty, such as Riccardo Braglia, director of Helsinn Healthcare, the pharmaceutical group producing nimesulide, the active ingredient of Aulin. As is well known, years ago this medicine risked being withdrawn from the market due to suspected links to liver damage. But Aulin was saved and Braglia, according to what was reconstructed by the magistrates, thanked Rossi in the most traditional of ways: a bribe hidden inside a newspaper.<\/p>\n

Rossi's defense is disarming: \u00abI thought they were banal, I've never done things contrary to official duties<\/em>\u00bb. And now he represents us in Brussels.<\/p>\n
