\"Medici,Strike Monday 28 November of doctors, veterinarians and health managers of the NHS<\/strong>. And in the meantime, an Assembly Day on Monday the 21st in all workplaces. The protest, called by the medical inter-union (Anaao, Cimo, Aaroi-Emac, Fp Cgil Medici, Fvm, Fassid-Cisl Medici, Anpo-Ascoti-Fials Medici and Uil Fp Medici), was motivated by a set of reasons: from cuts to staff to the few resources available, from the unbearable workloads to the non-renewal of the contract, from the strong economic decriminalization suffered in recent years up to the tax exemption of productivity, which public doctors ask to have as already envisaged for private healthcare.<\/p>\n

"There will be a strike, unless our proposals on employment contracts, precarious workers and new hires in the maxi-amendment to the Stability Law are accepted" they explain in a note<\/strong>. First of all, the unions denounce "the few and unclear resources envisaged for the renewal of contracts" (after seven years of blockage): for now there would be just 80 euros gross on the plate, a figure that the unions consider completely insufficient. The inter-union also recalls the uncertainty and scarcity of funding for new jobs and the stabilization of 14,000 precarious workers, as well as the impoverishment of ancillary resources (the loss from 2000 to 2016, according to calculations by the Anaao union, would be 500 million).<\/p>\n

"The amount allocated by the government is largely insufficient" comments Massimo Cozza, secretary of the FP Cgil Medici<\/strong>. Within the budget law \u201cthere is a general fund for the public administration which is vague and indistinct, we are speaking generically of 1.9 billion euros for the entire public sector. But considering that there is everything inside, and that many promises have already been made, the resources for the doctors' contract are absolutely residual". The union leader added that it is necessary "to give answers to the thousands of precarious doctors and nurses who work in health care" and that it is necessary to "hir new staff".<\/p>\n

Massimo Cozza underlined that \u201cwe have come from years of cuts in healthcare and blockage of turnover<\/strong>, we can't even replace colleagues who retire. This confronts us with a critical situation, because if doctors are not replaced, access to services is at risk and waiting lists will only get longer". In conclusion, the secretary of the FP Cgil Medici recalled that the budget law also includes "an increase in repayment plans for health and hospital companies, and this could cause further restrictions within the structures of the NHS".<\/p>\n
