After listening to all the political forces and probing their availability in the first talks, the Prime Minister in charge returned to Città della Pieve, in Umbria, where he spent a Sunday at work. Now the parties expect that the second round of consultations, at Palazzo Montecitorio, will focus on the programme, while the puzzle remains on the team that will support him: if it will be made up of technical or political ministersor in a hybrid form. The prime minister in charge will return to Rome today; the schedule for the second round of consultations, which will last a total of 48 hours, is busy. The scheme remains that of starting from the smallest and concluding with the largest group: we start, this afternoon, from 15.00 to 15.15, with the mixed group of the Chamber and the linguistic minorities; to follow, from 15.30 to 15.45, the deputies of Maie-Psi will parade; from 16.00 to 16.15, it will be the turn of Action and +Europe-Italian Radicals; at 16.30 Draghi will see the minor components of the centre-right, Noi con l'Italia and Cambiamo; at 17.00 Democratic Center - Italians in Europe; at 17.30 the senators of the Autonomies (Svp, Patt, Uv).

Draghi's consultations will resume tomorrow at 11.00, with the newborn Palazzo Madama group of Europeanists-Maie-Democratic Center. From 11.45 to 12.15 the president in charge will meet Free and equal and, subsequently, from 12.30 to 13.00, the representatives of Italy alive. At 13.15, then, it will be the turn of Brothers of Italy, the only party at the moment that has already announced that it will not vote for confidence. The Democratic party is expected from 15.00 to 15.30. From 15.45 to 16.15 it will be the turn of Come on Italy and Udc, and, subsequently, from 16.30 to 17.00, of the League. The closure of the second round is with the 5 Star Movement from 17.15 to 17.45. At the end of the consultations, a discussion could take place with the social partners; after which, the president in charge could go up to the Quirinale to report to Sergio Mattarella the outcome of the meetings with the parties. If the broad support that seems to exist were confirmed, Draghi could lift the reservation and present the list of ministers soon after.

Draghi works on schedule. She is still unknown about the team

According to what was reported by the parties at the end of the first round of consultations, the theme of thesanitary emergency and the review of vaccination plan in addition to the expiry of the freeze on layoffs, set for the end of March; several parties, starting with Forza Italia and Italia viva, then ask for the Recovery plans drawn up by the Conte II government. On the team front, both M5S and Lega are asking for the formation of a political government, with the difference that the Via Bellerio party claims it wants to leave Draghi carte blanche by not placing conditions on the participation of other parties, nor vetoes on people. In part of the 5 stars, at the moment, however, there are still major perplexities about the participation in the government of the old allies of the Conte but the goal of the top management would be to contain as much as possible the frond of those opposed to the new government and entrust the final decision to the subscribers with vote on Rousseau.

Apart from the high-profile experts, the jurist Martha Cartabia, the economists Lucretia Reichlin, Fabio Panetta, Carlo Cottarelli, Dario Scannapieco And Victor Colao, there are few names of politicians who circulate in toto as ministers of the palace, an exercise that at the moment appears premature in any case. Among these, the deputy secretary of the Northern League Giancarlo Giorgetti, in his party supporter of Draghi since the first hour, or Matteo Salvini's lawyer Julia Bongiorno. Other names that circulate are those, for M5S, of Louis DiMaio And Stephen Patuanelli, while Giuseppe Conte has made it known that he will not be part of the Draghi executive; for the Democratic Party, Lorenzo Guerini And Dario Franceschini; for Forza Italia, on the other hand, Antonio Tajani And Mara Carfagna.

Zingaretti locks Draghi, Salvini delimits the times

It is a time of trust and courage towards those who "put themselves at the service of an Italian rebirth": he says so Nicola Zingaretti which thus locks down the next Draghi government. On the day of reflection, before the second round of political consultations, the support of the Democratic Party is cemented and bets with "absolute unity" on the former banker. Meanwhile in the air of respite you breathe in Brothers of Italy (“If Draghi does well, there will be our votes on the measures,” he promises Giorgia Meloni), is contrasted by the ever faster pace of the League towards the new executive. But you must have a deadline, remember Matthew Salvini: "We are here", he assures if there is "a project for a country that convinces us and which will obviously last for months", he specifies, a temporary government or a single one due to the exceptional nature of the moment, as he had defined the leader of the League who already marks the first difference with the maxi majority to come. And just looking at such a wide front with Come on Italy And League, alongside previous allies, Nicola Zingaretti clarifies: to the criticisms of mess-ups with the sovereignists, he replies by highlighting their turnaround, especially on Europe, against the coherence of the Nazarene. "There is no doubt that it is new: Salvini agreed with the Democratic Party, we did not deviate", he points out on Rai3 and goes further: "I saw the political project creak for which the new was an attack on Western democracies and the death of Europe". In short, "a new phase opens” he proclaims and throws the ball back into the League field, waiting to see if it will be consistent with Saturday's words, after the first confrontation with Draghi. Salvini, on the other hand, shows himself zen: he ignores the accusations and the irony of social networks for the conversion on the way to Brussels: "I'll leave the labels to the others", he limits himself to saying and deviates personally: "I am a very pragmatic and concrete".

In the Senate

Due to the opening of the Government crisis, today and throughout the rest of the week theSenate assembly it will not meet and will be convened at home. As regards the Commissions, the Constitutional affairs will discuss the decree containing further urgent provisions on the containment and prevention of the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19 and for the holding of elections for the year 2021 and on the outline of the Prime Minister's decree on accidents having an impact on networks, information systems and IT services and measures to ensure high levels of security.
