\"\"The second meeting in the presence of the 2021\/2022 social year of the members of the Lions Club Forl\u00ec Host will see the presence as speaker of Massimo Scaccabarozzi, president of Farmindustra, who will deal with the theme "The \"\"drug and the pharmaceutical industry in Italy\u201d.<\/p>\n

The important guest will be presented by Richard Bevilacqua<\/span>, president of the Club, during the evening of Thursday 28 October 2021, which will take place at the Grand Hotel in Castrocaro Terme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The appointment takes on particular significance in this phase in which the theme of vaccinations to combat the Covid-19 pandemic is at the center of the attention of all citizens every day and due to the prominent place that research, experimentation and drug production.<\/p>\n

Italy is among the top 10 countries in the world with advanced economies, high per capita incomes and a high social development index. There are several fields that contribute to the international success of our country: from tourism to fashion, from agri-food to mechanics. However, few know the reality of a sector, the pharmaceutical one, which represents true Italian excellence.<\/p>\n

Today Italy is the first country in Europe for the production of drugs with a turnover of 31.2 billion euros and has expressed the greatest increase in pharmaceutical exports among the European drug multinationals, marking a 15-fold growth from 1991 to 2017 It represents 55% of all high-tech exports of the country and is the 3rd sector for investments in research and development.<\/p>\n

Robotisation of the operations of the Johnson & Johnson industrial site was applied for the first time in the world in Italy in the 1980s, which today produces 4.5 billion innovative oral treatments every year, for the 95% exported to over 100 countries worldwide .<\/p>\n

\"\"In Europe, Italy is first for the presence of pharmaceutical companies with US and German capital, second for that of French, Swiss and Japanese companies. Just as it is a world center for the production of vaccines of English-capital companies and is specialized in biotechnological drugs, vaccines, blood products, orphan drugs and advanced therapies, with 300 biotech drugs under development, so much so that three out of six advanced therapies, authorized in Europe, they have been developed in our country which is the first in the world for innovative drug remuneration contracts.<\/p>\n

These and other topics on research, innovation and pharmaceutical production will be discussed by the president Massimo Scaccabarozzi, who also holds the role of CEO of Janssen Italia and of all the Johnson & Johnson group companies and is a member of the General Council of the Aspen Institute Italy.<\/p>\n
