\"\"Realize industrial autonomy in strategic health sector<\/strong>, ensuring Italy and the European Union an integrated supply chain between companies capable of developing and producing highly innovative products: drugs, vaccines, therapies and medical devices to prevent and combat health crises such as Covid-19 or diseases that require new treatments<\/span> and for which it is necessary to strengthen the health system by investing in biotechnologies, nanotechnologies, but also in the digitization of production processes and in the development of platforms that favor digital therapies.<\/p>\n

This is what theImportant Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI)<\/strong><\/span> on health that the Ministry of Economic Development led by Giancarlo Giorgetti<\/strong> has undertaken to build as part of the industrial policy initiatives promoted by our country together with the other EU member states and the European Commission.<\/p>\n

The issue of health is in fact one of the pillars of the industrial development strategy pursued by Minister Giorgetti who has deployed new resources and tools, such as the Enea Tech and Biomedical Foundation, to support investments in research and technology transfer in our country, but he also promoted, in the bilateral meetings with the EU Commissioner Breton, the French Minister Le Maire and the other representatives of the Member States received at the Mise, the need to create a joint European action plan<\/strong> to strengthen strategic autonomy in a sector that the pandemic has revealed to be of primary importance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Italian pharmaceutical industry is a candidate to be a point of reference at European level. Since the beginning of my mandate, I have relied heavily on the excellence of our pharmaceutical industries. I am confident that everyone's efforts and commitment will soon bear fruit<\/em>\u201d, declares Giorgetti.<\/p>\n

“We want to implement a common project of EU interest in the health sector<\/em> \u2013 continues the minister \u2013 because the Covid emergency has made us understand how much of a priority it is to launch an extraordinary investment support plan, in which Italian companies will be able to play a leading role thanks to their skills and expertise<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

“The IPCEI on health<\/em> \u2013 concludes Giorgetti \u2013 it is a first concrete step forward in the definition of a common European strategy in which Italy plays a very important role both at an industrial level and in terms of technology transfer in a frontier sector such as the pharmaceutical and medical sectors<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Companies interested in participating in the IPCEI will be able to respond to theI notify<\/a> published by the Mise by posting, starting today January 19th<\/strong> and no later than February 28, 2022<\/strong>, its manifestation of interest by proposing an investment project in Italy which, in addition to research and development activities, must also have an experimental phase of industrial development.<\/p>\n

The projects to come selected<\/strong> they can be financed in derogation from the European legislation on state aid, to face market and social challenges that could not be overcome in any other way, but possibly also with resources from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan if the related activities comply with environmental legislation national and European.<\/p>\n
