Lucia Aleotti è stata condannata anche per corruzione. Ordinata la confisca per un miliardo di euro nei conti all’estero della famiglia. La più grande casa farmaceutica italiana, la Menarini di Firenze, sarebbe diventata tale perpetrando per quasi trent’anni, dal 1984 al 2010, una colossale truffa ai danni del sistema sanitario nazionale. Usando società estere fittizie per l’acquisto dei principi attivi dei farmaci, ne avrebbe aumentato il prezzo finale grazie a una serie di false fatturazioni.
The State, by reimbursing medicines with inflated prices, would have lost 860 million euros. The Aleotti family, owner of Menarini, would have earned over half a billion euros: that money would have been laundered abroad together with other illicit proceeds accumulated thanks to corruption and numerous tax fraud crimes, for a total of around 1.2 billion euros .
The thesis of the Florence prosecutor's office was in fact accepted tonight by the Court of the Tuscan capital, judge Francesco Gratteri president of the jury, who after a two-year trial.
