Falsified medicines: AIFA, no reports in Italy

With regard to the AIFA Alert released by the media on 4 drugs with falsified packaging (Clexane, Neupro, Vimpat and Spiriva), the Italian Medicines Agency specifies that after careful checks conducted in the last two weeks, both in the countries of the European Union both on the national territory, which to date are not reports in the Italian public distribution network of medicines without optical reading stickers and that at European level the case of illegally exported medicines without stickers appears to be limited only to the United Kingdom.

The security systems present in our country allow careful and accurate monitoring of the movement of medicines, including counterfeit or illegal products.

AIFA ensures continuous monitoring in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and with the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Health.

We thank the distributors and trade associations for the collaboration and attention shown in this circumstance as well.
