Measles in Italy: 4,220 cases and 3 deaths since the beginning of the year

Number 22 of the weekly bulletin created to promptly monitor and describe the measles epidemic underway in our country since January 2017, edited by the Ministry of Health and grafico morbilloHigher Institute of Health (ISS). The bulletin presented in the form of an infographic provides an overview of the distribution of cases reported to the Integrated Measles and Rubella Surveillance System, by Region, by age group and vaccination status.

A causa di alcune problematiche correlate al sistema di sorveglianza, non è possibile una corretta valutazione epidemiologica dell’andamento della malattie in tempo reale. Infatti, i casi che si aggiungono ogni settimana al totale non sono solo i casi effettivamente insorti, ma anche i casi che, per diversi fattori, sono stati inseriti in ritardo, nell’ultima settimana, ma che si riferiscono a persone che hanno manifestato i sintomi nelle settimane precedenti.

ISS. To promptly monitor and describe the ongoing measles epidemic in our country since January 2017, the Ministry of Health and the Higher Institute of Health have started the production of a weekly infographic that provides an overview of the distribution of cases reported to the Integrated Measles and Rubella Surveillance System, by Region, by age group and vaccination status.
