(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 24 - The Antitrust has extended to 11 January 2012 the deadline for concluding the proceeding on the pharmaceutical group Pfizer for alleged abuse of a dominant position in the pharmaceutical sector. The proceeding, according to the Authority's bulletin, was launched in October 2010 to verify whether Pfizer has implemented strategies to artfully extend the patent of the active ingredient Latanoprost (for the treatment of glaucoma of the eye) to prevent or delay the arrival of generic drugs.
