The pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly will increase the surface area of its production plant in Sesto Fiorentino, as evidenced by the memorandum of understanding signed with the University of Florence and the local authorities for the acquisition of the buildings of the former Agnoletti high school.
With this growth in mind, the company will carry out approx 300 hires by 2020. These are not recruitments that are too distant in time; the first 100 personnel could be placed in the company as early as December 2017.
THE COMPANY
Eli Lilly and Company was born in 1876 by the Colonel Eli Lilly, whose goal was to produce reliable medicines to be administered thanks to a doctor's prescription, a new concept at the time. The company we recall was the first to market insulin, and twenty years later the first typhoid vaccine.
More than a century later, Eli Lilly remains a company of excellence in the pharmaceutical sector, present in Italy with the plant in Sesto Fiorentino active since 1961.
