Whistleblowers "friends" of doctors

Scientists often rely on their friendship with the doctor to get him to prescribe the drug they promote. This was revealed by a former informant and a Californian pharmacologist on Plos Medicine. Naturally, the experts explain, “when choosing to focus on a friendly relationship with the potential client, the task of the scientific rep is easier if he is faced with an extroverted and brilliant doctor. But in any case, one can decide to leave product samples delivered, a choice that numerous studies define as effective for the purpose of increasing prescriptions. Usually, free packs of the most famous or expensive drugs are given, and if the doctor delivers them to patients, it is very likely that he will also prescribe them in the future, to complete the treatment. Every move, every gift, every word is cautiously measured by the informants, not so much to meet the needs of doctors or patients, but rather – ironize the authors – to grow the market share conquered by the company”.
