The EU crushes the hopes of parapharmacies

They discover that they have been placed on layoffs only by passing the badge at the turnstile, which does not recognize them. This is what happened this morning to many of the 128 workers of Sigma-Tau for whom CGIS was decided for two years. Only today, the start date of the social safety nets for employees which add up to the almost 300 layoffs last year, it was discovered who had kept their job and who could stay at home. No letter or telegram, in fact, for many workers, who were refused access to the turnstile: practically the replica of what happened in January 2012, when hundreds of people discovered that they were no longer part of the workforce only at the beginning of the shift at the "badge not recognised" signal. "There is no respect for us as people: they didn't even have the courage to tell us that they no longer needed us", commented some newly laid off workers. They are echoed by the company union representatives who "indignantly denounce yet another manifest violation of the dignity of workers who have always honestly given their professionalism for the growth of the company".

“At the negotiating table for the new CIGS – explain the trade unionists – the Company was clearly asked to adopt different procedures for communicating to workers placed in CIGS. We had been given full assurance that, contrary to what happened last year, this time each worker would promptly receive the relevant communication by 17 January. It was not so! Many workers this morning had to suffer the humiliation of showing up at the turnstiles and discovering the deactivation of their badge or putting it in CIGS. This demonstrates the clear, unequivocal incompetence in human resource management. Again, we denounce the total cowardice of that management who did not have the courage to inform their collaborators, despite knowing their names, that they were placed in CIGS. These behaviors reveal the absolute absence of a work ethic and the most total negligence, as well as inability to manage the Socio-Technical Relations, which every Company should hold in high consideration.
