The Hon. Sileri, deputy minister of health, on the pharmaceutical service

He had caused much discussion a bill by Prof. Sileri, new deputy minister of health, on the subject of the pharmaceutical service made known on the occasion of the General States of Pharmacy promoted by Federfarma last February 28, but then not presented: he proposed to reaffirm the centrality of the pharmacy as a true and own proximity exercise in the dispensing of medicines and in the provision of services, confirming the establishment of the organic plan of pharmacies, as well as "rethinking the current experience of the parapharmacy by establishing the possibility that some drugs, defined in a special list by AIFA, are sold both in neighborhood businesses and in large-scale distribution without the mandatory presence of the pharmacist".

Other objectives of the legislative initiative declared by Sileri himself are those of “enhance the profession of pharmacist, expanding its activity to protect the right to health in specific contexts and in any case in any context in which medicines are dispensed" and to establish the role of ward pharmacist, “essential in hospitals, nursing homes and nursing homes. Places where the pharmacist can represent an indispensable guarantee”.

The proposal was greeted by a barrage of criticisms, in particular from the world of parapharmacies, and - as far as it appears - it has not yet been presented: the last traces date back to the end of last June, when Sileri himself, in a he interview given to the Federfarma news on the occasion of a conference on bullying, explained that the delay in the presentation of the bill was due to the fact that they were still "making improvements".

It remains to be understood if, during the torrid and long summer that followed, bringing with it in the middle of August the fall of the "government of change" caused by the secretary of the League Matthew Salvini and therefore the birth of a new majority and a new government of which Sileri himself is a part, those improvements were then really made and if that bill, so far only mentioned, will finally be presented and incardinated in Parliament.
