Nycomed, Rigoldi: "Company openings: let's call off the strikes"

"After the openings registered in today's meeting in Assolombarda, we revoke the strikes proclaimed for the next 20 and 21 September".
This was declared by Fabrizio Rigoldi, regional secretary of Ugl Chimici L0mbardia, at the end of the discussion with the company, explaining that "we believe it is right, given the progress made in the negotiation, to show a sense of responsibility to obtain the best possible solution for workers. Instead, the meetings remain confirmed, which will however be paid, for employees of the North Center and the Milan office on Thursday 20 September in the Lombard capital, and for those of the South Center in Naples, on Friday 21 September ".
"The company - explains Rigoldi - has shown itself available to reduce the number of redundancies, to evaluate alternative social shock absorbers to the mobility announced for the merger operation with Takeda, in particular for the workers of the Milan office, as has been set up a reasoning on possible relocation to other companies of employees who will leave the multinational and on voluntary redundancy incentives”.
"The next meeting - continues the trade unionist - will still be held in Assolombarda on 24 September: we must give a positive acceleration to the dispute, in order to agree on useful tools to buffer the employment impact of the merger".
