Starting with the new national collective labor agreement (Ccnl) for workers in the chemical, chemical-pharmaceutical, chemical fiber and abrasive, lubricant and LPG industries. The text, renewed last October 15th, is formally signed tonight in Rome by Federchimica, Farmindustria and all the trade union organizations in the sector (Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, Uiltec, Ugl Chimici, Failc-Confail, Fialc-Cisal). The new contract concerns over 180 thousand workers and more than three thousand companies. “We sign a contract that enhances corporate negotiation – he comments Massimo Scaccabarozzi, president of Farmindustria - and allows the recovery of a significant percentage of the so-called "inflation delta" of the previous National Collective Labor Agreement".

Among the main innovations introduced by the new contract, in addition to a recovery of the inflation delta of the previous contract, there is also the ex post verification of the deviations between planned and real inflation and the abolition of an additional contractual indemnity corresponding to the salary of a working day to finance contractual welfare initiatives. An agreement which, according to the president of Federchimica Cesare Puccioni, confirms "the solidity and validity of this system which, through the CCNL, also has the objective of preparing and directing the corporate social partners towards innovative and responsible challenges and comparisons". To stay competitive in the global market and guarantee qualified employment in our country, pharmaceutical companies “need to continue identifying new contractual and organizational solutions – underlines Scaccabarozzi – based on flexibility. Only with an industrial relations model capable of growth, open to discussion, will it be possible to continue pursuing these objectives”.

To continue to be an essential point of reference for companies – he points out Anthony Messina, delegate for Industrial Relations of Farmindustria - it is necessary that the national contract knows how to evolve to become an instrument capable of meeting the challenges of global market competition. “Clarity of the rules, enforceability of the same at all levels, company bargaining actually correlated to productivity/profitability and training of the social partners on contractual issues, are the growth drivers on which we will have to continue to compete” concludes Messina.
