For Italians 48% Government must defend industries

The government should defend Italian industrial excellence more, including in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors. The 48% of the Italians interviewed for a survey carried out by Swg for Sorin on a sample of 1,000 people, illustrated in Rome at the conference "Technologies in healthcare, innovation and development" are convinced of this.

Another 28% also says he 'more agrees than disagrees' with this assumption: citizens too, therefore, are betting on 'Made in Italy' industry to get out of the economic crisis.

According to the 37% of the compatriots, the Italian economy, in order to relaunch itself, needs a greater impetus to be given to the manufacturing industries.

For the 39%, our companies of excellence are able to compete with those of the whole world, even if for the 14%, in the absence of 'ad hoc' interventions, they could disappear or be bought by foreign companies.

A further 17% of Italians received a negative opinion, convinced that the Italian industrial system is unable to compete with that of other industrialized countries.

Furthermore, according to the 43%, Italian industries should invest more in technological research, and the 40% of cases thinks that the State should encourage collaboration between companies and universities in the field of scientific and technological research.

Lastly, as regards the biomedical sector, for 28% of those interviewed in Italy there are some large industries that also work at an international level.

Obsolete SSN equipment for 50% young Italians

Half of young Italians 'reject' the quality of biomedical equipment in our country. This is what emerges from a survey carried out by SWG for Sorin on a sample of 1,000 adult Italian citizens representing the adult national population, illustrated today in Rome at the conference 'Technologies in healthcare, innovation and development'.

The 50% of the 18-24 year olds therefore does not believe that the 'technological park' of the National Health System is up to the level of other developed countries: the 13% of them thinks that the quality is "much lower" than the other States and the 37% thinks it is "lower". The judgment was negative especially in the Islands: the 34% 'rejected' the equipment, with the 14% deeming the quality "much lower" and the 20% "lower" compared to the other countries.
