WEBSITE EDUCATION: the page dedicated to the WELFARMA Project is born

What is WELFARMA

Allied drug companies and trade unions to facilitate the retraining and redeployment of redundant personnel in the pharmaceutical sector. Sector that has registered 5 thousand personnel cuts since 2007 to date, mostly graduates and high school graduates, the number of which is expected to grow in the coming years. With these goals, Farmindustria, Filcem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil have signed an ad hoc agreement. "It is an act of social responsibility, strongly desired by trade unions and companies, and a concrete example of bilateral management for the protection of employees through guided paths in the labor market", reads a joint note. The “Welfarma, this is the name of the new welfare model, represents an extraordinarily innovative voluntary instrument – continues the note – which joins the current contractual and legal provisions, without any additional expense compared to the costs of the company agreement. It does not require new public resources, but uses what is already available such as social shock absorbers, training skills and contributions to self-entrepreneurship. It will allow interested companies to direct redundant employees towards related sectors, other product sectors or their own business activities. Welfarma's innovativeness consists in making a network available to companies and workers based on collaboration between private employment agencies and the Ministry of Welfare, which will be required to activate Italia Lavoro. The requalification aimed at the characteristics of the person and the potential of the market, the training and support in the planning and launch of the future activity represent the strengths of Welfarma. It is a flexible response to the downsizing of employment in pharmaceutical companies due to a profound transformation of the sector at national and international level.
