– Rome, 30 Dec. – The Minister for the Implementation of the Government Program, Gianfranco Rotondi, received a delegation from the professional associations of drug sales representatives. The delegation represented the sector's employment emergency due to arbitrary layoffs by major pharmaceutical companies. The delegation documented that these layoffs occur without any crisis in the sector and, therefore, a government commitment was requested towards greater control and verification. The minister reported to his colleague Sacconi and to President Berlusconi the alarming picture that had been presented to him. (sn)
