SNAMI: possible two-day strike

"We are facing a climate of criminalization of the prescriptive activity of family white coats, a consequence of police investigations based on purely statistical data"
Doctors adhering to Snami are on a war footing. The national executive, the central committee and the national council of the union, meeting in recent days in Milan, confirmed the state of unrest, with the possibility of a two-day strike if meetings with the government do not lead to positive results by January. "It has been noted - Robert Charles Rossi, Snami national secretary – of the current general situation and the changes envisaged for the downsizing of professional orders in the so-called Mastella bill. We are facing the danger of dismissing the role of doctors and an unacceptable climate of criminalization of the prescribing activity of family white coats, a consequence of police investigations based on purely statistical data", he continues, referring to the ever increasing requests for reimbursement from of the ASL for family doctors who prescribe too much. The union denounces the "risk of deterioration of the essential levels of assistance, caused precisely by the application of individual spending budgets for the prescriptions of general practitioners". A risk that the acronym wants to inform citizens about. Hence the state of trade union unrest, with a message to the public counterpart: if the meetings with the government delegations, planned by the end of January 2007, do not have positive results, the central committee will be reconvened for "further and more incisive trade union initiatives , including two days of strike in the category”.
