Tickets on medicines in 8 Italian Regions, tickets on Emergency Department white codes in 12 Regions and tickets for specialist and outpatient diagnostic services throughout Italy. The hypothesis on the introduction of new forms of citizens' participation in some health services, put forward in view of the new Budget Law, has aroused strong controversy in recent days. And yet, more than a hypothesis, this is already a reality in a large part of the Italian regions, as demonstrated by the data processed by Il Scalpel, and published in the fortnightly issue due out in the next few days, based on the findings of the Agency for regional health services.
