Daniel Vasella will collect a starting indemnity that could reach 72 million francs [€ 58,437,045.87], but he told Swiss-German TV SRF that he won't keep them all to himself; a part will be donated to charitable organizations and other institutions.
The chairman of the Novartis board will leave the Basel pharmaceutical company next week.
The manager (who will soon be 60) will receive the entire sum if he complies with the conditions negotiated with the company, such as the ban on moving to competitors and passing on his knowledge of the Rhine giant.
