AstraZeneca has announced the layoff of 100 of the 850 employees it has in Spain

Meetings will begin as early as today "with the workers' representatives so that together we can reach agreements that minimize the effects of this decision".

Although this news represents an 11.7 per cent reduction in AstraZeneca's workforce in Spain, the company "wants to reaffirm its strong long-term commitment and scientific potential in the country".
