Comparison? Elderly civil party.

The Aging Society will appear as a civil party in the trials of doctors, pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies accused of the crime of comparison. Part of the seized sums will be donated to the Fund for non-self-sufficiency. This was announced by the president of the Aging Society-Observatory for the Third Age, Emilio Mortilla, during the presentation of the 2007 National Report on the condition and thinking of the elderly, yesterday in Rome. Mortilla also appealed to the political forces to "strengthen the penalties and sanctions to be imposed on those who speculate on the health of citizens, making an illicit profit". “Doctors – underlines the Aging Society – must in no way subordinate prescriptions to economic or other agreements. It is necessary that the penalties and sanctions to be imposed on those who speculate on the health of citizens, making an illicit profit, are tightened up”. The association also asks for “the seizure of a percentage of the illicit enrichments, to be allocated to the National Fund for non-self-sufficiency. Patients have the right to medicines, but waste and dishonesty must be tackled, even with legal and legislative actions".
