Family doctors "must help us save money by prescribing equivalent medicines, which cost less". This is the appeal of the Deputy Minister of Health Ferruccio Fazio to family doctors gathered in Florence for the national congress of the Italian Society of General Medicine (Simg). "We will try not to tighten the rules of the budget on generics - Fazio said to the audience of white coats - but we need your help. You must help us by making the National Health Service spend less. In this way you will help the whole country".
