France, a study judges the 50% of medicines useless

A medicinal on two of those distributed in France it would be useless if not dangerous. This is revealed in a book published by a specialist doctor, Philippe Even (director of the Necker Institute), together with a transalpine parliamentarian. And, the two specified, "it is not a book of opinions, but an informative text, the result of the analysis of thousands and thousands of publications".

As reported this morning by the weekly Le Nouvel Observateur, the book indicates a list of 4,000 drugs judge yourself useless: in particular in the crosshairs there are a series of medicines against cholesterol, widely used in France (between 3 and 5 million people hire them) and capable of generating a turnover of 2 billion euros a year. For Even this is enough to define pharmaceuticals as "the most lucrative, the most cynical and the least ethical of all industries".

The doctor also points out that most useless medicines are reimbursed by the public health service, which leads to the conclusion that in order to solve the problem of healthcare fundingit would be enough to remove unnecessary medicines from the market.
