Drugs manipulated in a fraudulent manner, active ingredients replaced by other ingredients (the latter are totally ineffective in controlling the patients' symptoms: practically fresh water sold instead of medicines!), managers of a pharmaceutical company (Geymonat, in this case) arrested and then forced under house arrest, in Latina, in recent days, with the serious accusation of counterfeiting pharmaceutical products. The fact is that, having finished in the company (apparently for trivial procurement reasons) the pharmacological principle with mucolytic activity present in Ozopulmin (a well-known medicine and used for decades in the treatment of catarrhal coughs, especially in children, but not only), the choice was made very lightly to "replace" it with a sort of homemade remedy which combined with the ease of recovery on the market the substantial lack of effectiveness.
It goes without saying how absurd such behavior is, and how risky it is to propose a product described as made up of one molecule and instead actually made up of another: apart from fraud and impropriety, many possible scenarios come to mind ( from allergy to lack of therapeutic effect and so on) as the backdrop to such an absurd and paradoxical story.
In reality, what is slowly happening in the world of drugs is something which, although absurd and paradoxical, does not seem to us to be attracting the attention of those same observers who instead focus on much more secondary issues (we are talking about health, naturally) they tear their clothes to pieces every day, crying wolf even in the presence of dogs.
