Menarini: Florence Public Prosecutor's Office is asking top management to be indicted

(ASCA) - Florence, Oct 19 - The Florence prosecutor's office has requested the indictment of the top management of the Menarini pharmaceutical company: the founder Alberto Aleotti, accused of fraud against the state, and the children Lucia and Alberto Giovanni, accused of money laundering .
The news had been anticipated today by some Florentine newspapers. According to prosecutors Luca Turco, Giuseppina Mione and Ettore Squillace Greco, in the past Menarini allegedly 'inflated' the costs of active ingredients purchased abroad, thus increasing the price of 'finished' products.
”We expected it – explains the lawyer Alessandro Traversi, lawyer of the Aleottis together with Roberto Cordeiro Guerra -. We are confidently awaiting the preliminary hearing, certain of being able to demonstrate the non-existence of the hypothetical crimes”.
