ABC (brain-damaged children association) in collaboration with L'Adventure Club Foggia (association of inflatables of the captaincy), has been organizing for ten years, in July, with a fleet of about 40 inflatables of the members, "MARE SENZA BARRIERE", a trip to the sea for unfortunate children, many of whom, now adults, as children only have the brain and often not the motor skills: yes, we are talking about the invisible, whose existence the society in which we live ignores, of those who keep themselves hidden for shame, of those who don't vote, of those who only annoy because they are absolutely not self-sufficient, often in wheelchairs or worse, bedridden.
Even the writer had never posed the problem: how do these children, boys, men or women, adults perhaps but only by age, go to the beach?
Simple, they don't go, and after all who would ever dream of taking them to the sea, perhaps in one of the enchanting coves that shore up our coast, then in a dinghy, let alone in wheelchairs, just thinking about it is crazy.
Until I was lucky enough to meet the presidents of the two associations, two wonderful people who have nothing crazy about them, just a heart that is big in a crazy way and who have been organizing this event called "Sea without barriers" for years
And the AIISF? What does AIISF have to do with it? what is AIISF? Carneades would be in good company.
Well, AIISF is the Italian association of drug sales representatives, an association to which the writer has the honor to belong and which in recent years has done something concrete to cheer up Christmas and Epiphany for children hospitalized in OO.RR. of Foggia and the Oncological Department of "Casa Relief of Suffering", organizing fundraisers among members and buying gifts for hospitalized children on holidays.
It goes without saying that when one of our members told us about this initiative, as AIISF we immediately took action by organizing a charity show with the collaboration of the "Enarchè" Theater Company to raise funds to be allocated to this initiative which presents, as imaginable, many logistical problems.
The show, a brilliant comedy entitled "We don't do it ... never", will be held at the Teatro Regio di Capitanata on May 21, accessed by invitation, those interested can contact Dr. Carlo Salvatore on 3491336350 or at the AIISF headquarters, Via Ciano 18/d on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 pm. For once again ... let's send brain-damaged children to the beach and selfishness to the fish.
