Bird flu: Sanofi Pasteur donates 60 million doses of vaccine to WHO

Sanofi Pasteur has donated 60 million doses of vaccine against the H5N1 avian flu virus to WHO. This gift will be made for 3 years with the aim of establishing an international reserve stock.

Stop the liberalization of the pharmaceutical market

Stefano Pessina, President and 35% shareholder of Alliance Boots, the Italian-English pharmacist giant, argues that the liberalization of the pharmaceutical market has not yet started in Italy, but 'there is a process that has begun throughout Europe and it cannot be avoided. Maintaining the status quo only makes drug costs higher and the relationship between those who distribute medicines and those who consume them more tense'. Despite the goal of Pessina's group is to "grow a lot and invest a lot", in Italy it is waiting to invest, waiting to understand how the Bersani decree will evolve with the new government.
