(AGENORD) – Milan, 9 Dec. – “The possible closure of the Sanofi Aventis research center would represent a serious loss for Milan. – said the councilor Cristina Tajani during the meeting with a delegation of workers of the pharmaceutical company. – Every corporate crisis is always a drama for the city, the cancellation of a research center is doubly a source of concern for the administration. Research is the precondition for economic development, without adequate investments there is the risk of impoverishing work, production, the economy and the university fabric which loses the possibility of continuity with the production system. We hope that the decision to discontinue research activities is not final. For our part, as an administration, we will contribute to monitoring the situation by calling Milanese entrepreneurship to a responsibility towards workers and institutions." The meeting with the trade union representatives of Sanofi Aventis belongs to a long series in which the Municipality of Milan is involved as an active player in industrial relations. In the coming days Councilor Tajani will also meet the company's management.
