Scaccabarozzi, VAT increase weighs 450 million, just sterilize it

As for pharmaceuticals, a sector subject to a ceiling, "sterilizing VAT would be a correct thing. And if you don't want to do this, at least the VAT increase should be considered in the calculation of the shelf, or the ceiling should be adjusted". This was declared by the president of Farmindustria Massimo Scaccabarozzi, in Milan on the sidelines of the Healthcare Summit organized by Il Sole 24 ore.

The number one of the drug companies explains that the impact of the VAT increase is equivalent to a "further shelf of 400-450 million euros. Its effect is felt both on hospital and territorial pharmaceuticals, an item in which we also cover the private expenses of citizens ".

However, the problem of the VAT increase takes a back seat to a priority expressed by Farmindustria: "The decree of July 2011. If the health pact is moved, we believe that everything connected to the pact should be moved forward.

Therefore, the application of the 35% payback on any hospital expenditure overruns should also be frozen. Because otherwise discrimination is made and it is not possible to arrive at a fair and concrete solution. Our request is this".
