(AGI) - Rome, March 4. – Following the agreement signed on 22 September last, the renewal of the national collective labor agreement for workers in the chemical, chemical-pharmaceutical, chemical fiber and abrasive, lubricant and LPG industries was officially signed. The agreement was signed by Federchimica and Farmindustria, and all the trade union members of the sector (Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, Uiltec-Uil, Ugl Chimici, Failc-Confail, Fialc-Cisal) representing over 180,000 workers and about 3,000 companies. There are four particularly relevant themes of the new contract: productivity, employability, flexibility and enforceability.

There have been many regulatory interventions aimed at improving productivity. In this ambit, the role of company bargaining will be central to which the collective bargaining agreement offers various opportunities. Among other things, the company agreements will be able to adapt the national labor contract rules to the different company needs, with the help of guidelines defined at national level.

The possibility has also been envisaged of facilitating the stable employment of young people with specific regulations, including economic ones, which will complement the new, more agile regulations envisaged for apprenticeships. On the employability front, the 'Bridge Project' was launched, which aims to increase and encourage youth employment, creating a generational 'bridge': the senior worker who is leaving the company, reducing his workload, allows a junior resource to take over. In this way, the outgoing worker assumes, for a fixed period and on a part-time basis, the potential role of tutor for the new resource, which also benefits from an educational point of view. The hope of the Parties is that the institutions encourage this modality with adequate resources. Flexibility is a relevant transversal aspect, which starts from the recognition of training as an essential tool for the quality of human resources: adequate training interventions can guarantee constant updating and greater preparation, which favor the professional growth of the worker, make him more easily relocatable in different company areas, thus favoring his employability and productivity.
