Pharmaceuticals, the best online communicators

Pharmaceutical companies, especially European ones, are among the best in the world when it comes to online communication. This was revealed by the sixth 'Financial Times Bowen Craggs Index of Corporate Web Effectiveness', where 6 of the first 20 'top' companies in this sense are active in the pharmaceutical sector.

The methodology used to develop this index assigns the highest scores to companies that have websites "that are well built, well integrated with other channels (e.g. YouTube or other social media), that present content in a more effect and that are readily used by a wide range of stakeholders". The study shows that the Swiss Roche has the most effective website of all pharmaceutical companies, while it ranks fifth overall. Compatriot Novartis ranks second in the sector and eighth when analyzed with all companies. The Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca is third, thirteenth in the general index. Finally, the experts give a 'special mention' to the American Pfizer, which has gained eleven positions compared to the previous general ranking for having better integrated the sites of the various countries, while increasing the career section and social media channels.
