Medicines by mail: FOFI - Farmindustria agreement

"Following Farmindustria's illustration of the terms of the agreement" with the Italian Post Office for the home delivery of certain medicines, "Fofi (Federation of Italian Pharmacists' Orders) has acknowledged that this meets particular situations, numerically limited , which are highly critical and require appropriate approaches".

This was underlined by a joint note from the two associations, who met yesterday in Rome on this issue and on the shortage of some products in some Italian areas.

"Fofi, it was agreed, will play a guarantee role so that the pharmacist continues to perform all the functions in the patient's interest when dispensing the drug.

Fofi together with Farmindustria thus confirms, through the guarantee of the surveillance of pharmacists, its culture of service to the citizen which is, and remains, central to both realities.

On the shortage of some drugs in some Italian areas, caused by exports to countries with significantly higher prices, Fofi and Farmindustria have asked AIFA to convene a table with all the players in the pharmaceutical supply chain as soon as possible. A meeting from which the appropriate solutions must emerge to solve the problem and respond to the care needs of patients in difficulty".
