Farm industry and University

The signatories of the agreement are the president of Farmindustria, Sergio Dompé, and the rectors of the University of Siena, Silvano Focardi, of eastern Piedmont, Paolo Luciano Garbarino, and of Rome Tor Vergata, Alessandro Finazzi Agrò.
The School, now in its fifth edition, aims to introduce new graduates in scientific disciplines to economics and politics. "Previous editions - explains a note from Farmindustria - allowed as many as 30 young people to enter the world of work, through internships offered in companies associated with Farmindustria".
"The goal of the School - continues the note - is to prepare new managers for the pharmaceutical industry who, alongside a solid technical-scientific foundation, are able to use economic analysis tools for a particular world such as that of medicines".
The School represents the first experiment in Italy of direct collaboration between the three universities and an industrial association in order to train highly specialized professionals.
The lessons will be held at the Collegio di Santa Chiara of the University of Siena from 4 to 18 September 2006.
The School program and enrollment procedures are available on the website www.unisi.it/econpharma
