The number of FFIs decreased by -1.2% globally in 2013

According to Cegedim Strategic Data (CSD), the research company dedicated to the healthcare market, the number of drug sales representatives worldwide decreased by 1.2% in 2013, reaching 424,000 full-time units with significant differences between regions .

Regional trends remain the same as those found in 2012 with a decrease in FSI in mature markets, notes Cegedim. The largest decrease was seen in North America with 66,000 Whistleblowers at the end of 2013, a decrease of 7.4%. In the top 5 in Europe (France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and Spain), the observed number reduction is 7% (72 000 FSIs in total in the 5 countries at the end of 2013).

Similarly, the rise in emerging markets continues. Sales force is up 9% in China (95,000 ISF at the end of 2013) and 4.4% in Brazil (over 24,000 ISF).
