ISTAT: industrial production index

 

In May 2010, based on the elements available so far, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index, with base 2005=100, recorded an increase of 1.0 per cent compared to April 2010; the change in the average of the March-May quarter compared to that of the previous three months is equal to plus 1.9 per cent.

In May, the production index corrected for calendar effects recorded a tendential increase of 7.3 percent (there were 21 working days against 20 in May 2009), while in the first five months the change compared to the same period of 2009 was +4.9 percent (there were 104 working days against 103 in 2009).

The crude index of industrial production recorded an increase of 10.5 per cent compared to May 2009. In the trend comparison relating to the January-May period, the index increased by 5.7 per cent.

 

In May 2010, the industrial production index for the pharmaceutical sector (CF) adjusted for calendar effects showed an increase of 0.5 compared to the same month of the previous year.

 In the comparison between the first five months of 2010 and the corresponding period of 2009, pharmaceutical production increased by 4.8%
