DOMPE' APPEAL: "NOW LESS LAWS, TAXES AND BUREAUCRACY"

The president of the Association in his speech at the annual meeting renews the requests to the political class

Reduce bureaucracy, simplify the laws and bring taxation to the levels of the most efficient countries. These are the requests of the drug industry to the government, put forward by the president of Farmindustria, Sergio Dompè, during the opening speech of the association's public meeting. «For some time now we have asked for fewer laws and more controls – underlined Dompè – short times, transparency and simplicity of procedures, to avoid fraud, counterfeiting, corruption, also to protect the many who operate in compliance with the law». It is also necessary to "consolidate the investments of national companies and confirm and attract those of international companies that already invest, as Italians, in the country". In particular, resources are needed for research, as well as certain times: «For this – he said – it is necessary that the measures already introduced on the program agreements, on the tax credit and on the New technologies of life project be confirmed and strengthened Industry 2015». To strengthen the pharmaceutical sector, Dompè articulated, "there is a need for courage and innovation" but also to "modernize the approach of the public administration and of the companies themselves in terms of incentive policies: no more incentives to rain and incentives to who has not used them properly. Dompè is also open to fiscal federalism, hypothesizing a reform "that makes the regions more and more responsible" while at the same time demanding that "the policies that also affect virtuous regions slow down their modernization" and the measures "that only affect pharmaceutical expenditure, stop for six years now." Furthermore, according to Dompè, the Italian Medicines Agency should not be dismantled but rather strengthened, because "Italy cannot do without a modern regulatory body ready to offer services to businesses and to provide, together with these, new therapeutic responses . AIFA – he recalled – has been called in recent years to manage a demanding and complex job. It has done so with structures that are not numerically adequate for the activity to be carried out, structures that must be strengthened so that the procedures are fast, clear and efficient, in defense of patients, businesses and the administration".
