The working hours of the isf

Dear colleagues, immediately after returning to work following the Christmas holidays, I take advantage of the space granted by this site to deal with a very thorny issue for drug sales reps and for the company they work for. In fact, this argument concerns the working hours of the scientific representative of the drug. From the urban legends of the surgeries, this topic would seem to be known in depth by most, but in reality it is not. Unfortunately, there is a considerable "ignorance" of the ISF on this subject, and it pains me to highlight it. Normally the ISF who has doubts asks his colleagues or his boss for guidance, but rarely gets precise information.

Let's take some news on the internet and from them we learn that:

Six years after the final deadline established by the EEC, the legislative decree n. 66/2003, implementing the European directive n. 93/104 on working hours and rest periods as amended by directive 2000/34/EC.

According to the European directive The definition of working hours includes any period in which the worker:

1) is at work;

2) available to the employer;

3) in the exercise of its activity or functions. In fact, mere physical presence in the workplace as a potential willingness to provide one's professional services is also working hours.

Normal working hours:

Normal working hours are set at 40 hours per week. Collective labor agreements may establish, for contractual purposes, a shorter duration and refer normal working hours to the average duration of work performance in a period not exceeding one year,

The maximum duration of working hours:

The maximum daily and weekly duration of overtime is repealed. The novelty consists in setting the average duration of working hours, which for each seven-day period, cannot exceed 48 hours, including overtime hours. The average duration must be calculated with reference to a period not exceeding
