With these words, written on a mysterious note, Chiara's investigation begins. The riddle starts from this sentence, found in the rain in her sister's grave, and takes her very far, until her life is completely turned upside down. She, the protagonist, defeated by life, throws herself into this sort of slippery search that projects her into an underwater world. A revolution, even internal, which absorbs and transforms it in just one week.

The story is pressing with constant changes of front, and pursuits throughout Sardinia. In particular there is Cagliari, which is a bit of a stand-in for the protagonist, or perhaps the protagonist herself. Because it is seen as a city that lives, breathes, transmits emotions and follows moods.

THE BOOK. Damned Heart – Parallel45. “Thanks to you that I am alive; a thought forever". With these words, written on a mysterious note, Chiara's investigation begins. The riddle starts from this sentence, found in the rain in her sister's grave, and takes her very far, until her life is completely turned upside down. She, the protagonist, throws herself into this sort of slippery search that projects her into a submerged world, a world that absorbs and transforms her, in just one week. An inner journey too, which is a continuous discovery. Chiara is actually a mature woman, succumbing in the struggle for survival, flattened in days that are always the same. Fragile and dreamless, who despite herself is dragged into a very eventful adventure, where she risks reconsidering her whole life.
The pace immediately becomes pressing, with constant changes in front, and pursuits throughout Sardinia. The reader gradually finds himself shedding light, almost ahead of the protagonists, on a mystery that complicates everything. Thus what seems, and what is, continuously exchange roles, in an always linear story that goes up, often with very colorful and engaging hues. The protagonists are very real, with their doubts and their torments, who seek the sun and struggle to find an oasis of tranquillity. To counter them there is a whole rich corollary of minor characters, absolutely authentic, who live their own story, sometimes even in a few lines, surrounding the reader. The story is set in Sardinia, in the current period, mainly in Cagliari, which is a bit of a stand-in for the protagonist, or perhaps the protagonist herself. Because it is seen as a city that lives, breathes, transmits emotions and follows moods. Like Chiara's car: an old, beautiful, red Fiat Barchetta that has full dignity as a character, accompanying the protagonists and the story in the phobias, loneliness and deranged exaltation. The whole story lives live, in just one week, punctuated by the passing of the individual days. Loves, afterthoughts, traps and twists enliven the whole story, without a moment's break, always keeping the interest alive.
