Governor of Sicily: 'No bankruptcy. I cut many ASL"

The President of Sicily Raffaele Lombardo replies to the bankruptcy accusation: 'I was elected 4 months ago and I am not responsible for the past. Now, together with my colleagues from the Giunta, we are working to repair the faults'. Lombardo proposes to enter into an agreement with the unions to stop hiring and waste in the health sector and recalls that a reform has been launched which provides for the reduction of local health 29 a 17. The Governor of Sicily believes that with fiscal federalism the Region will reach the levels of the rest of Italy in 10 years.

Patents, Italian industry recovers

From the first systematic mapping of the Italian territory on the production of patents, edited by Carlo Triglia and Francesco Ramella and promoted by the IRIS Research Institute and the Tuscany Region, it emerges that among the sectors that drive the Italian economy there are the pharmaceutical sector (8% of the total) and the medical sector (5%), which alone between 2000 and 2004 has recorded a growth of 31%. The study contains the results of a research on the patent applications of Italian companies at the European body for the protection of intellectual property rights in the period 1995-2004.
