Pharmaceuticals: Farmindustria, unacceptable delays on AIFA appointments

It is up to the ministries of Economy and Health (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 04 June - "At a time when it is necessary for everyone to intensify efforts to relaunch the country's economy, it is truly unacceptable that inertia of the competent institutions prevents AIFA from carrying out its role". Farmindustria writes it in a note in which it defines "the continuing delay in the appointment of the new members of the Technical-Scientific Commission (CTS) and the Prices and Reimbursement Committee (CPR) of the Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa) by the Ministries of the Economy and Health: A postponement that has very serious consequences both for the pharmaceutical industry and for patients"

Farmindustria adds that the two AIFA commissions – whose role is fundamental for marketing authorizations (AIC) and for the reimbursement of medicines – have lapsed for a hundred days now.
